Unless you or one of your loved ones is made of money, you're probably looking for a few ways to cut costs but still make your wedding the most special day of your life. One fool-proof way to get free wedding stuff is to go to as many bridal expos as you can during the first month or two of your wedding planning. Before you've got all your vendors lined up, hit up as many of these expos as you possibly can. It will be exhausting, but worth it. Las Vegas - Comps, How to Get Free and Discounted Stuff

As a frequent visitor to Las Vegas people always want to know about Comps and how they work.

First let me explain what a "Comp" is, It is short for compensation, and the term "Comp" has been around as long as Las Vegas Casinos has been trying to get people in the desert to gamble at their establishments. Quite simply it is an incentive for people who are loyal customers to the casinos, and Comps can include free meals, free rooms, free stuff, or discounts on all of the above.

I always thought Comps where just for high rollers, you know the guys who play hundreds or even thousands of dollars per bet. This just is not the case, my friend and I where playing Craps at a five-dollar minimum table and where being fairly successful, when a pit boss walked over to my buddy and gave him two free buffet tickets. I was surprised and asked how he accomplished this amazing task. His answer was really quite simple he said, "I asked." This is one thing I can not stress as being very important, always ask the worst thing that can happen is that they say no.

No matter if you play slot machines or table games, if you plan on playing at a casino for any length of time, get a players reward card for that casino. Sure it might take a few minutes but it will be well worth it. At some casinos you can show your drivers license at the table games and they will put you in their system and get you a players card. Always give the correct address as you will get some great offers in the mail, I have gotten quite a few free rooms this way.

Make sure that anytime you sit down at any table game that you are being rated, and get credit for it. The pit bosses are tracking your play whether you know it or not. Every time a pit boss walks over to the table to talk or check on the dealer you might see him writing on some cards. He is writing down approximately how much money you are playing per hand, that he has noticed, how long you have been there, and how much money you have in front of you. So anytime I sit down at a table I always give them my players card, and if I play more than an hour, or two, ask the pit boss for a meal ticket, if they will not give you one simply ask what kind of play, and time merits one, usually they will be totally honest and let you know exactly what you will need to do. At any table game it is always good to play above the minimum level whatever that may be, especially if the pit boss is at your table or watching.

When playing slot machines or video poker always use your players card, usually most casino will give you points for every play, and the time you are on a slot machine. Many times they will also let you know how many points you need to get free or discounted items. This system is a lot different than the table games where the pit bosses are the keepers of the comps, and lets you know exactly where you stand.

Finally remember comps are not free, they are based on your play in the casinos, and are designed to keep you loyal to a particular casino. So if you do not gamble you will not be rewarded. Also remember that downtown Las Vegas, and the off-strip properties are far more generous with their comps to the average gambler that most of the strip properties. On the strip you might need to play twenty-five dollars or more per hand to even think about a free meal, but downtown twenty-five dollars a hand can get you a free room, and meals.

Did you know that every day hundreds of companies that manufacture or market baby related products are giving away free samples and coupons to new Moms and Dads all across the country? I can tell you from first hand experience that it does happen and that we have saved literally hundreds of dollars since our daughter was born from all of the free things we've received. What I'm about to tell you is the SECRET to getting free samples of baby stuff including diapers, formula, magazines, clothes and much more!

It started back when our daughter was born in October. She was our first child so we were totally green when it came to what she would need. Luckily we had a great nursing staff at the hospital who helped us learn what to do and that was a big help. When we were about to leave the hospital to go home for the first time with our little daughter a nurse stopped us and gave us a nice bag with all kinds of free goodies. She mentioned that the manufacturers provided the hospitals with all kinds of free samples and starter kits for new Moms and Dads so we were thrilled to have some things to get us started. Inside the bag were tons of coupons, free samples of Enfamil and Similac baby formulas, some sample diapers, magazines and a bunch of other things. We were so happy to get all of these things so we started thinking about other ways we could get free samples and especially coupons since our newborn was probably going to be drinking a lot of formula over the next few years.

So after we got home I started to try and learn how to get more coupons and samples as we could always use them. Sure enough I found a bunch of ways to get free things and here are my 4 best tips on how to get the best free samples of baby stuff:

1. Attend Baby Related Trade Shows: We attended a baby trade show at our local Expo Center and it was freebie heaven! We walked out with bags full of samples, coupons and reading material, which was enough to save us hundreds of dollars on things for our daughter. The best way to do this is to search online for all conference and exposition centers within driving distance and then find out when the next show is scheduled. You can also Google search for "Baby Shows" or "Family Shows" and see what you can come up with. It's a great way to get tons of free baby things.

2. Get Free Baby Stuff from your Pediatrician: After a few months our little daughter developed an allergy to milk products so we were forced to find a non-dairy alternative formula. We finally found a soy formula that she liked and that was very nutritious however it was EXTREMELY costly. Luckily our Pediatrician had sample cans of the formula that we were able to get every time we had an appointment with the doctor! If they gave us two cans of powder formula every time we stopped in it was like handing us a $20 bill! Don't hesitate to ask your doctor for free samples next time. They get tons of this stuff from manufacturers every day and would be happy to give them to you.

3. Sign up online directly with manufacturers: We did this quite a bit as there were certain products that we used quite a bit of (i.e. Huggies diapers, Similac Soy formula, etc.) All you need to do is Google search for the company's website and normally they have a place to put your name, address and email so they can send you free samples and coupons. Similac is especially a good place to sign up for stuff as you'll get really good coupons and they'll even send you small cans of formula for free as well. (TIP: Get your family and friends to sign up for you as well so that you can get twice as much free stuff!)

4. Google search for free baby stuff: If you go to Google or any other search engine you can search for "free baby stuff" or "free baby coupons" plus many other keyword searches that will bring you to sites where you can sign up for all kinds of free things. It's probably the easiest and quickest way to sign up for free stuff and most times you'll only need an email address and physical address where they can send coupons and samples.

So as you can see there are many ways to get free baby stuff whether it's from trade shows and your pediatrician or from online websites. We have saved so much money by using these free resources and the great thing was that it was easy and takes little effort. So keep your eyes open and you'll find great free deals as well for your new baby!

Now why baffles most people is why companies are giving away free samples. There are many reasons one of them is because sometimes for a consumable product it is a good way of convincing the public to try it risk free. If the product is good and we have a buying consumer, we have a winner product.

Sometimes for example, they might provide you with a free pen in hopes that once you enjoy and get use to the pen you will continue using their products by purchasing their refillable ink. This will provide the companies with recurring incomes.

Others are just to extend their market reach with good surveys along with their freebies to study and research the market. And it is often that the free stuff seeker is required to enter their email, zip or personal details, complete a survey and verify their data. Well all in the name of research and follow ups.

To the free stuff seeker what does this mean? Actually it is quite beneficial.

These are sites that let you win free stuff such as money, houses, real estate, vehicles, mobile homes, boats and yachts, mobile phones, as well as PDAs. You really can get free stuff, but yes, sometimes there are strings attached. For example, when we were at universal studios I got a free backpack. The catch? I spent six minutes filling out a credit card application. On the other hand, we ate pretty well on free sample days at local food stores when we lived in Tucson, and there really weren't any strings attached, other than the risk of being sold a delicious new food. Check ut the easy freebies that follow.

Free Entertainment

Many libraries carry movies on DVD, and most at least have documentaries. We 've even seen music videos on DVD in one library. The only cost? The time to get a library card.
Want free concerts? Festivals usually have some free musical entertainment. For example, the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City, Michigan has free entertainment every night during the week-long festival, including many recognizable bands and (often) a Beatles tribute band. Go to Google and type in "festival" and the name of towns around you to find these freebies.

Free Vacations

In Hawaii, Costa Rica or Colorado, someone is just waiting for you to come and stay in their house while they are away. You may have to water the plants, and even get the mail for them, but you get to stay in a beautiful home in a sunny place. Sometimes you even get paid for these vacations. The only catch is that to find these opportunities, you may have to subscribe to one of the newsletters that list them.

You can get free dental x-rays at some dental colleges. Be patient, as the students are just learning, but an experienced technician is always with them.
